Ellen Domingos began performing professionally at the age of eight with her first role as Ngana in South Pacific at Maine State Music Theatre in Brunswick, Maine. By the age of thirteen, she was performing across the country as Miss National Pre-teen after competing against 52 other state contestants, winning the national title and the talent portion of the national pageant in Orlando, Florida. She studied musical theater at The Boston Conservatory of Music and earned her BFA in Acting at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Ellen has performed on Off-Broadway, in regional theater, touring companies, cruise-ships, voice-overs, commercials, television, and film. She has had the good fortune to work with Tony award nominee, Mark Jacoby as well as Tony Award nominee, Jan Maxwell and Drama Desk award nominee, Jeremy Kushnier in the workshop of the American premiere of the reading of hamlet the musical at the Abingdon Theatre in NYC. Her favorite role to date is as Rachel in the world premiere of the new Two By Two directed by Emmy, Grammy and Tony award winner, Martin Charnin and director and lyricist of the 1977 Tony Award Winner for Best Musical, Annie. Most recently, she had the honor of singing with the Portland Symphony Orchestra and David Burnham, a member of the original cast of the 6 time Tony award winning musical, The Light In The Piazza and recipient of the 2007 Helen Hayes award for Best Actor in a Musical, in the third largest Christmas show in the country, The Magic of Christmas. Ellen has had the privelege of performing for and meeting our country’s forty-first president, George H. W. Bush and has worked with many theater companies including Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival, New Bedford Festival Theatre, Chelsea Repertory Company and the Women’s Theatre Company. Some of her favorite roles include Rizzo in Grease, Nancy in Oliver, Gloria in The Sign In Sidney Brustein’s Window and Ella Hammer in The Cradle Will Rock. Ellen worked for many years as a model in New York City posing for clients such as Sears, Dockers and Levis, to name a few. She has appeared on book covers, in nationally distributed catalogues, Japanese magazine covers, Marie Claire magazine, Latina magazine and even a billboard at Shea Stadium in New York! Ellen is excited to have recently added teacher to her resume. She has developed a series of musical theater and audition technique workshops geared toward kids interested in the performing arts. Having performed since she was a young girl, Ellen understands that children need positive reinforcement and confidence to reach their goals. Ellen has recently been accepted to New York University's Steinhardt School's Educational Theater graduate program in New York City. She is excited to continue her education and earn her master's degree at one of the top graduate schools for theater education in the country. Ellen has just completed teaming up with her long time friend and artistic director of the Good Theater, Brian Allen, to write her one woman show, Is There Fat In That? - one woman’s account of life in the big city. The show debuted in Portland, Maine February 2009 to great critical and public aclaim.
